Scheduled Export Add-on for StoreMove

Table of Contents

Add-on Overview

Scheduled Export Add-on for StoreMove creates recurring full exports from the StoreMove export modules that are active on the site. It is designed for automatic store backup exports and can export one or more data types in each scheduled run.

Each schedule can export to protected StoreMove Storage or, when available, to Google Sheets. Runs are recorded in a dedicated Runs history table with status, format, destination, actions, and log access.

The add-on performs full exports. It does not use selected-item exports or custom item filters in scheduled runs.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0 or newer.
  • PHP 7.4 or newer.
  • StoreMove installed and active.
  • WooCommerce installed and active before scheduled exports can run.
  • An active Scheduled Export Add-on for StoreMove license.

The Scheduled Exports menu is added under StoreMove when StoreMove is active. If WooCommerce or the add-on license is missing, the admin page can show notices and scheduled export operations will not run.

Installation

  1. Install and activate StoreMove.
  2. Install and activate WooCommerce.
  3. Upload, install, and activate Scheduled Export Add-on for StoreMove from the WordPress Plugins screen.
  4. Go to StoreMove > Scheduled Exports.
  5. Open the License tab and activate the add-on license.

After activation, the add-on is managed from the Scheduled Exports page inside the StoreMove admin area.

License Management

The License tab connects the site to the Scheduled Export license. A valid active license is required to create active schedules, run schedules manually, resume schedules, receive access to scheduled export features, and receive add-on updates.

The License tab shows the current status, saved masked license key, expiration date, customer details when available, activations left, and the last checked time.

  • Activate License: Enter the license key and activate it for this site.
  • Check Status: Refresh the current license state from the license server.
  • Revoke License: Deactivate the license for this site.
  • Remove Local License Data: Clear the locally saved license information when the license is not active.

Add-on Admin Page

The add-on admin page is available at StoreMove > Scheduled Exports. It contains four tabs:

Tab Purpose
Schedules View all schedules, see last and next run times, and use schedule actions.
Add Schedule Create a new schedule or edit an existing schedule.
Runs Review scheduled run history, download files, open Google Sheets, import single local exports, view logs, and delete run rows.
License Activate, check, revoke, or remove local license information.

Creating and Managing Schedules

  1. Go to StoreMove > Scheduled Exports.
  2. Open Add Schedule.
  3. Enter a schedule name.
  4. Select one or more available data types.
  5. If Products is selected and the SEO Data add-on is available, choose whether to include SEO data.
  6. Select an export format.
  7. Select the destination.
  8. Choose the frequency and timing options.
  9. Choose whether the schedule should be Active or Paused.
  10. Click Save Schedule.

When an active schedule is saved, the add-on calculates the next run time and schedules it through WordPress cron. When a schedule is saved as paused, it has no next run until it is resumed.

Data Types

The available data types come from StoreMove and the StoreMove add-ons that are installed, active, and available on the site. StoreMove core provides Products and Coupons. Other data types, such as Orders, Customers, Reviews, or other modules, appear when their corresponding StoreMove add-ons are active and registered for export.

A schedule can include multiple data types. Each selected data type is exported during the same logical run, and the Runs history groups those results together in one row.

If a data type used by an existing schedule becomes unavailable later, the schedule can still be preserved, but that data type may be reported as unavailable during a run until the required add-on is available again.

Export Formats

The export formats shown in the schedule form come from StoreMove. The standard StoreMove formats are:

  • CSV
  • XML
  • JSON

StoreMove Storage can use the available StoreMove formats. Google Sheets exports use CSV behavior through the Google Sheets add-on, so schedules using the Google Sheets destination are saved as CSV.

Schedule Frequency

Each schedule supports the following frequency options:

Frequency Behavior
Daily Runs once per day at the selected time.
Weekly Runs once per week on the selected weekday at the selected time.
Monthly Runs once per month on the selected day at the selected time. If the selected day does not exist in a shorter month, the run is scheduled for the last day of that month.
Custom interval Runs every selected number of Days or Weeks. The custom interval uses the "Every" number field and an interval unit of Days or Weeks.

Scheduled runs depend on normal WordPress cron behavior. A site must receive traffic, or have a server cron configured to trigger WordPress cron, for scheduled events to run on time.

Run Now

The Run Now action starts an immediate manual run for a schedule. It is available from the Schedules table.

  • An active Scheduled Export license is required.
  • StoreMove and WooCommerce must be active.
  • A schedule cannot start a second run while another run for the same schedule is already running.
  • Run Now uses the schedule settings at the moment the run starts.

A manual run appears in the Runs tab with the trigger shown as Manual. Scheduled cron runs appear with the trigger shown as Scheduled.

Runs History

The Runs tab shows the Schedule Run History. Each row represents one logical scheduled export run, even when that run exports multiple data types or creates multiple files.

The table includes:

  • Schedule: The schedule name and whether the run was Manual or Scheduled.
  • Date: The most relevant date for the current status. Running runs show the start or latest update time, and completed runs show the finished time.
  • Status: Success, Partially Completed, Running, Unavailable, or Failed.
  • Format: The export format used for the run.
  • Destination: StoreMove Storage or Google Sheets.
  • Type: The export type label and row actions, similar to StoreMove history actions.

The Runs tab shows the newest runs first and can be filtered from a schedule by using View Runs. The add-on retains recent run records, with running records prioritized when retention limits are reached.

Available row actions can include Download, Import, Open Google Sheet, View Log, and Delete, depending on the run destination, file count, format, and available files.

Download Behavior

Download actions are available for local StoreMove Storage runs when the generated file or archive is still available.

Run output Download behavior
One local export file The Download action downloads the original generated file directly in its existing format.
Multiple local export files The Download action downloads one ZIP archive containing the related export files. Individual files are not downloaded separately from the Runs table when multiple files exist.
Google Sheets destination No local file download is shown. The run provides an Open Google Sheet action when the spreadsheet URL is available.
Missing file or missing archive The Runs table shows File missing instead of a working Download link.

Multiple export files can happen when a schedule includes more than one data type or when Large File Support splits a large CSV export into parts. In those cases, the files are grouped into a ZIP archive for the Scheduled Export run.

Google Sheets Add-on Integration

Google Sheets appears as a destination only when the Google Sheets Add-on for StoreMove is installed, its dependencies are met, its license is active, and a Google account is connected.

When a schedule uses the Google Sheets destination, each selected data type is exported through the Google Sheets add-on into a new Google spreadsheet. The run records the spreadsheet information and shows Open Google Sheet in the Runs history when a spreadsheet URL is available.

Google Sheets scheduled exports use CSV-style export data. If Google Sheets is selected, the schedule is saved using CSV format. If an existing Google Sheets schedule is edited while the Google Sheets add-on is not available, the schedule can be preserved, but it cannot successfully run to Google Sheets until the add-on is ready again.

SEO Data Add-on Integration

SEO Data support is a Products export option. It is not a separate scheduled export data type.

When the SEO Data Import & Export add-on is installed, active, and licensed, selecting Products in a schedule reveals a Product Options section with an Include SEO data checkbox.

  • When checked, SEO columns are added to the Products export file.
  • When unchecked, Products exports do not include the SEO-only columns from the SEO Data add-on.
  • The option applies to the Products file in the normal export flow, including StoreMove Storage, Google Sheets, and Large File Support when those destinations or integrations are used.
  • The schedule and run labels show Products + SEO data when the schedule is configured to include SEO data.

The SEO data is added to the Products export itself. It does not create an extra SEO Data file or a separate SEO Data schedule item.

Large File Support Integration

Large File Support is used automatically for eligible scheduled exports when the Large File Support Add-on for StoreMove is installed, available, and licensed.

The Scheduled Export add-on uses Large File Support for local CSV exports only. It does not use Large File Support for XML exports, JSON exports, or Google Sheets exports.

When Large File Support is used, large CSV exports can be prepared and processed in batches. If a run needs more time, the add-on continues the run in the background. The Runs history can show the run as Running until all selected data types finish.

Large File Support may produce multiple CSV part files. When a scheduled run produces multiple local files, Scheduled Export groups them into a ZIP archive for download.

Pause, Resume, Edit, Duplicate, and Delete

Action Behavior
Pause Stops future automatic runs and clears the next scheduled run time.
Resume Requires an active license, marks the schedule active, calculates a new next run time, and schedules the next automatic run.
Edit Opens the schedule form. Saving an active schedule recalculates and reschedules the next run. Saving as paused clears the next run.
Duplicate Creates a copy of the schedule as a paused draft with "Copy" added to the schedule name.
Delete schedule Deletes the schedule and clears its pending scheduled event. Existing run history is preserved.
Delete run Deletes the scheduled run row and removes the run log and grouped ZIP archive owned by the Scheduled Export run.

Important Notes

  • Available data types depend on the StoreMove export modules and add-ons currently installed and active on the site.
  • Run Now can be used for an immediate manual run, but only one run for the same schedule can run at a time.
  • A run keeps the schedule configuration it started with. Editing a schedule affects future runs, not a run that is already in progress.
  • When the add-on is deactivated, pending scheduled events are cleared. If a run was in progress, it is marked failed with an interruption message. Schedules and run history are preserved.
  • Multiple local export files are grouped into one ZIP archive for Scheduled Export downloads.
  • The Import action in Runs history is shown only for a single local export file in a supported StoreMove import format.
  • Google Sheets runs provide an Open Google Sheet action instead of a local Download action.
  • Large File Support applies automatically only to local CSV scheduled exports when that add-on is available and licensed.
  • SEO Data is included only as an optional Products export enhancement. It adds SEO columns to the Products export file and does not create a separate SEO Data export file.
